On June 2, 2008, there were 22 agricutural technologists from 8 countries participating in lectures on "Sugarcane Crop Production and Sustainability" at Mitr Phol Sugarcane Research Center, Chaiyaphum. This is a part of an international course "Sustainable Crop Production" organized by Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University and Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the same day, they also visited Mitr Phol Park comprising of sugar mill, co-generation plant, bagasse board process and ethanol factory in Phukieo, Chaiyaphum
